FAQ
Common questions about SayWhat and HOA document management.
Any PDF or Word document your HOA uses: CC&Rs, bylaws, rules and regulations, ARC guidelines, meeting minutes, resolutions. If it governs your community, SayWhat can index it.
Every non-trivial answer includes the exact document name, section, and page number. If the answer isn't in your documents, SayWhat says so clearly — it never fabricates. You can click the citation to verify directly.
You control visibility per document. Public documents are accessible to anyone (including the unauthenticated public chat widget). Private documents require authentication. Board-only documents are restricted to board members.
No. Each HOA's data is completely isolated. A homeowner from another community cannot access your documents, and your members cannot access theirs. This is enforced at every layer of the system.
Sign up, verify your email, and upload your first document. The whole onboarding process takes about 10 minutes. Most HOAs are fully set up within a day.
Yes — a credit card is required to start a subscription, but you won't be charged until your 30-day free trial ends. Cancel anytime before the trial ends and pay nothing.
Because every answer includes a citation, it's easy to check. If the source document is clear on the answer, SayWhat will be too. We recommend always verifying consequential decisions against the authoritative document.
Yes. Condos, co-ops, townhome associations, and other governance structures work well with SayWhat. If you have a governing document and members who ask questions about it, SayWhat is a fit.
No. Your community's documents are never used to train or fine-tune any model. They exist only to answer questions within your community.
